Visas & Customs Requirements

Students:

The D5 is a multiple entry student visa, which entitles to enter and leave Hungary many times until it is valid. During the first year of studding in Hungary student visa will have to be replaced by a residence permit.

Needed for student visa:

1. Visa application form;


2. Passport (must be valid for at least 18 months, but preferably valid until the end of your studies.);


3. Three passport-size photograph;


4. Acceptance Letter from the university/college in English and in Hungarian


5. Bank receipt of transfer of tuition fee payment or a Payment Certificate from the university or from College International


6. Visa fee (equivalent to ca. USD 50);


7. Airplane reservation or fare ticket;


8. A proof of accommodation.

Residence Permits for Students

Students from every country must apply for a residence permit from the Immigration Office of Hungary within 90 days of their arrival or before the D-5 visa expires.

Necessary documents for obtaining a residence permit:

• 4 completed copies of the form of application for a temporary residence permit which can be obtained from the Visa Office (the forms have to be completed in the Polish language),


• 5 color passport photos,


• A certificate from the Dean’s Office signed by the Dean which includes,


• A certificate confirming fulfillment of your residence registration requirements,


• A photocopy of your passport,


• Proof of insurance,


• Student card.
